A graduate of the University of Central Florida with degrees in electrical, software, and medical engineering, Hassan began his career as an assistant to Dr. Harris and other Electronic professors at UCF from 1976 to 1981. He was involved in several university research and development projects being conducted for NASA, Martin Marietta, and Mc Donold Douglas, among others. From 1981 to present day, Hassan has been involved in design, research, and development of medical equipment for companies such as Boehringer Manheim, Smith Kline Diagnostics, Mallinckrodt, Dupont, Johnson & Johnson, Abbot, Beckman Coulter, Bio-Dynamics, and Angel Engineering, to name a few. Hassan is also the co-founder of Alicia Diagnostics Inc. and has been CEO since 1984. Since 1984 Hassan has been developing and designing high-tech medical equipment (hematology and chemistry analyzers, syringe and infusion pumps, needle destroyers, pain management devices, SIDS prevention device, Allerty detection device, Hemoglobinometer, Coagulation device, and Spirometer) for Alicia Diagnostics Inc. He is a member of the Engineering Society, UCF Alumni Association, and UCF Research Center.
